Public Voice appointed to leadership role with NICE

Public Voice is proud to announce that Jano Goodchild, Participation and Co-production Director, has been offered a leadership role on the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Leadership Group.
The NICE VCS Network acts as a hub for engagement between NICE and voluntary, community, and social enterprise organisations, and plays a key role in shaping NICE’s strategic direction, policy, and collaborative partnerships. The leadership team helps steer the network’s approach, co-produce its content, and co-deliver its quarterly meetings.
Jano’s appointment brings an important voice to the leadership group, with a focus on community empowerment. In her application, she outlined clear priorities that align with NICE’s ambitions to better engage with diverse communities and ensure that seldom-heard voices can contribute meaningfully to NICE’s work.
Her priorities include:
- Gathering insights from diverse communities: Supporting underrepresented groups to understand and engage with NICE’s work.
- Equitable co-creation of priorities: Building fair and balanced relationships between the VCS sector and the communities they represent, and NICE.
- Mutual capacity-building: Strengthening both the VCS Network’s ability to support NICE priorities, and NICE’s capacity to engage with community organisations on their own terms.
“I’m honoured to be offered this opportunity,” Jano said. “It’s a chance to make sure community organisations and the people they support have a stronger voice in national conversations about health and care.”
