Pregnancy, maternity and birth: Experiences of care in Haringey’s seldom heard communities

As Haringey previously had one of the highest stillbirth rates in England, North Central London NHS asked Public Voice to look into inequalities in health and care provision through our Healthwatch Haringey service.

We surveyed, interviewed, and held focus groups with diverse maternity service-users, including seldom heard voices.

We received 33 survey responses, mostly from Haringey residents in the borough’s more deprived East. We conducted a focus group with three Polish women, supported by HoPEC, and gathered feedback from 18 participants at CARIS Haringey.
